Join the fun on Albany Road!

This year’s street party is a celebration of community. It is a chance to bring together local residents, enjoy meeting your neighbours and make new friends. Join in the fun, and help to make the day a success!

What’s in store?

Albany Road will be closed to traffic from 1pm to around 5pm. We kindly ask residents with cars to park on the surrounding streets so that we can maximise the space for fun and safety!

We’ll be setting up several gazebos and trestle tables and encouraging people to bring-a-dish or two along. In previous years, residents have very generously set up their bbq! We hope everyone feels welcome to provide and share food, drinks, skills or games that will help bring us all together. We’re also organising music, a plant sale, a kids craft area, facepainting, outdoor games, colourful bunting, a visit from the local fire station and ice cream van.

If your’re able to contribute to the day’s success - either through donations, time, effort, skills or just simply turning up to say hello to some friendly neighbours, then we’d love to see you there!

Donations can be made via the offical GoFundMe page and will help to fund the activities, promotion, safety and clean up of the day!

See you there!

How can I contribute?

Help us set up on the day - we’ll need help to pop up some gazebos and trestle tables, as well as decorate the street with bunting.

Lead an activity - perhaps you can rally people together on the day to take part in an egg & spoon race, or ‘guess how many sweets in the jar’ type raffle, its a great way to get chatting to people!

Share a skill - Are you skilled at henna, facepainting or particularly crafty which could be enjoyed by others? Feel free to set up on one the stands, or create one!

Feeders unite! We have a fantastic range of cultures in the village, bring your favourite dish along for others to try (please label with ingredients and your name so we can thank you!)

The big tidy - after every good party there needs to be a tidy up. Please lend some space in your wheelie bin for recycling, and help to pack down.
